Key Persons

We operate a key person system that gives each member of staff responsibility for a small number of children. Your child will then have one special adult to relate to which can make settling into the nursery much easier. The key person is then in a position to deal with each child's individual needs and development. The key person maintains links with the child's parents through shared record keeping to ensure that children reach their full potential.

 

Ratios

The legal requirements for the number of children per adult is as follows-

1 Adult : 4 children aged 2 years

1 Adult : 8 children aged 3 to 5 years

We work to lower ratios than is required of us to provide a higher level of care.

 

 Staff

We currently employ 9 core staff members, they are either qualified or about to be qualified to the level recognised within the childcare industry.  A level 3 qualification is the recognised level to supervise a setting -

We employ 1 further assistant who is employed to assist during the main sessions and the lunchtime sessions -

There are also 2 members of staff who run the business side of the Nursery. They deal with all financial and administrative enquiries -

All staff are Police Checked and many are qualified in First Aid. Further training is ongoing to maintain our high standards.
